STUDENT RECOGNITION
It is extremely important to recognize student accomplishments and to reinforce them positively so that they will continue. Along with the classroom recognitions that teachers implement on a regular basis, there is a school wide strategy. The school wide program is four tiered and geared to recognize positive behaviors.
Panther Paw Recognition: Issue a “Paw” to a child who demonstrates a Character Counts trait. Once received the student can place the paw in a manila envelope that will be used for a drawing during lunch.
Announcement Paw Recognition: This is another way to recognize a student who demonstrates the Character Counts traits. These are read on the morning announcements.
Positive Referrals: These are a one per year recognition that is issued to students who consistently
demonstrates the Character Counts traits.
Actions of a Positive Referral:
A. Student will meet with Principal/Assistant Principal.
B. Parent phone call to discuss referral
C. Student/Parent copy of referral
D. Copy of referral posted
E. Group Photo Displayed in Local Paper
Quarterly Academic Recognition – Principal’s Award = All A’s
Principal’s List = All A’s and B’s
Quarterly Attendance Recognition - Perfect Attendance
